Project updates
March 2024
At the March 2024 council meeting, council approved the Accessibility Advisory Committee's work plan.
The results of the Accessibility Advisory Committee’s survey on accessibility were received for information at the Dec. 19, 2023 council meeting.
Council directed the committee to work through the survey results and report through the committee’s 2024 work plan with meaningful projects to support the survey results.
The committee will re-engage with the community with an additional survey at a later date.
The Town of Gravenhurst is committed to providing quality service that is accessible to all persons. As the Gravenhurst Accessibility Advisory Committee, we contribute to this commitment. The Committee promotes the removal of barriers and equal access to services for people of all abilities.
The Town is continually looking for ways to improve its services. One in seven people in Ontario have a disability and over the next two decades, this number will continue to rise. People with accessibility needs are active participants within the Town who equally contribute to the local economy and access local goods and services. It is vital for municipal services and facilities to be accessible and welcoming to all.
Thank you to everyone who participated in our accessibility survey.
