The project

The Gravenhurst Fire Department is creating a new Fire Master Plan.

What is the purpose of the plan?

  • It ensures that the Town of Gravenhurst is compliant with the Fire Protection and Prevention Act and other applicable legislation.
  • It provides recommendations about the appropriate levels of public education, code enforcement, and fire suppression that Gravenhurst should receive.
  • It provides the Gravenhurst Council (Council) with information to make decisions that will help protect lives and property and ensure firefighter safety.
  • It provides a clear picture of the community’s current emergency services needs, as well as its anticipated future needs.
  • It provides Council and the Fire Chief with budgeting and timeline recommendations to help reduce the impacts of unforeseen events.
  • It provides a guide for aligning available resources in a way that ensures they are used as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.
